The fine print

Shipping

How long an order takes to leave the warehouse depends on what you ordered, so that number sits on the product page rather than up here.

How this works, plainly

We don't own a warehouse. The gear we sell sits in fulfillment warehouses, and when you order, the warehouse packs it and sends it. We pick what goes on this site, we write what's on the page, and we're the ones you email when something's wrong. But we're not standing over a bench with tape and scissors, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

That arrangement is why this stuff costs what it costs. It's also why the ship time is what it is.

What it costs

Shipping is $6.99 flat, and free over $50 inside the US. We're not shipping outside the US yet.

When it actually arrives

Two different things, and they get run together a lot:

  • Handling. How long before it leaves the warehouse. That's on the product page, item by item, because it's different for different gear.
  • In transit. However long the carrier takes from there, which depends on how far you are from the warehouse.

Orders placed Friday afternoon through Sunday go out Monday. Nobody's packing on a Saturday.

Why your order might show up in two boxes

If you order a few things, they may not all come from the same warehouse. That means they won't all come in the same box, and you'll get more than one tracking number. Nothing has gone wrong. The rest is on its way.

Anything that we know ships on its own says so on its product page, before you buy. If you get one box and no sign of the rest after a few days, email us and we'll chase it.

When something's out of stock

Occasionally something sells out after you've ordered it. When that happens we email you the same day with two options: wait for the restock with a date attached, or take a refund. We don't quietly swap in a substitute and hope you don't notice.

Tracking

You get a tracking number when the label prints, not when you order. If four days have gone by with no tracking, something went wrong on our end. Email us and we'll find it.

The holidays

Late December is slower everywhere, ours included. Carriers add days and we can't take them back. If something needs to land by a particular date, order earlier than feels necessary and email us if you're cutting it close.
